The hermitage of San Antonio de la Florida, located in the plaza of the same name, is the third of the chapels dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua who was on the outskirts of Madrid. Is in the Moncloa district.
Origin and History
The first chapel was built in 1720 by José de Churriguera and demolished in 1768 due to the opening of the road to Castilla.
Two years later, Carlos III ordered the construction of a new one, which in turn was overthrown by Carlos IV.
Popular festivals
On June 13 we celebrate the traditional festival of San Antonio in the vicinity of the shrine, in the area known as the bulb.
