Juan Carlos I Park is a public park located northeast of Madrid, Barajas district. It covers an area of 160 ha, making it the second largest park in the Spanish capital, ahead of the Retiro Park (118 ha) and second only to the House, (but rather is it to a country park, undeveloped for the most part). It has a lake, an outdoor auditorium and several abstract sculptures. It was opened in 1992 for celebrating the European Capital of Culture this year in Madrid. It is managed by the Department of Environment Government of the City of Madrid. Location: Nestled in the area of the former Olivar de la Hinojosa (a picturesque garden of the eighteenth century), which have retained a good amount of olive trees. After the transformation of the area in the late 80's, establishing a complex of Campo de las Naciones, the IFEMA, the Palacio Municipal de Congresos and area offices and hotels, the park was built in the eastern part of the complex . The park is bounded by the M-40 south, the street of Dublin to the west, the Club de Golf Olivar de la Hinojosa Street to the north and east of Logrońo. The latter street from the Parque de la Alameda de Osuna, popularly known as "El Capricho". The park can be reached by the Metro: The Campo de las Naciones line 8 is located near the main entrance. Four more tickets give access to the park from other locations. Sculptures: In the park are distributed 19 abstract sculptures by different artists from different countries. Eleven sculptures were made by internationally renowned sculptors who participated in the International Sculpture Symposium to Outdoors, held in the grounds of the park in 1992.
