It is estimated that there are about 167,000 pupils in primary education, 320,800 in primary education, about 4,500 in Special Education, and about 50,000 training Profesional.90 Total non-university students is more than a million students, of which about 600,000 study in public schools, 260,000 in private schools and 150,000 in private schools do not concertados.90
In the 21 districts of the city of Madrid there are 520 child care (98 public and 422 private), 235 public schools in kindergarten and primary, 106 secondary schools, 309 private schools (with and without concert) and 24 centers extranjeros.
There are 242 public schools (nearly one in three) that provide bilingual education to some 55,000 elementary students.
